Q. Do you belong to a professional coaching association that adheres to a strict code of conduct?

A. Yes, Coach Wayne was trained at the Coach for Life Institute. The Coach for Life Institute is an Accredited Coach Training Program (ACTP) of the International Coach Federation (ICF). As a Certified Life Coach, I adhere to the code of ethics of the ICF.

Q. Are you a trained and certified as a life coach?

Yes, Coach Wayne is a Certified Life Coach (CLC) and completed 125-hour ACTP Coach Training Program at Coach for Life Institute endorsed by the International Coach Federation (ICF).

Q. Why is coaching different than therapy and consulting?

Coaching deals with the present, taking action and moving forward. Therapy tends to focus on healing past experiences. In consulting the consultant is the subject matter expert in coaching the client. The client is the expert of their life and has all their best answers within them.

Q. Why is advice giving not tolerated in coaching?

Inside the coaching framework the client has their own best answers for their life. Whenever advice giving is requested the client will be redirected to reflect and share what is best for them.

Q. What do I need to bring an agenda to the coaching session?

The coaching engagement is based on the client being self-responsible. A coach is responsible for supporting the client's forward movement toward their consciously chosen desired goal(s).

Professional coaching focuses on the client taking action toward the realization of their vision, goal, or desires. The coaching process helps clients both define and achieve professional and personal goals faster and with more ease than would be possible otherwise. (ICF, 2000)
